New site? Maybe some day.

My god. This might be the best one yet.
Beautiful game.
Huge world.
Great dungeons.
Great characters.
Political intrigue and real tension as opposed to bullshit 'chosen one saves teh world' plot.
Combat rules, and there are so many ways you can play it.
The lead characters are still very ghey, metro and too pretty, but they've been this way since FFVII, I doubt it's going to change in such a vainglorious world.
PS2 might just win the next generation console war. |
Jon has this waiting for him at EB. He's all boner-ridden about it. |
there are more final fantasy games than kiss farewell tours, and neither makes any sense |
I can't wait for the DS version... it's like a mini-kiss farewell tour. |
? |
no, i think thats the PSP version, "pretty short people" |
I'm a ways in now and it's just fucking excellent. This game makes plenty of sense. Obviously being a literate human being is required. |
this game is amazing. a lot of the characters are very "a new hope" like which is cool. |
How does it compare to the others? I haven't enjoyed any of the FF games since FF9. |
the best since the FF IV VI and VII days without a doubt. |
how is the new battle system? |

do you mean ps3 which comes out in two weeks?

it is the DS version there is no psp version in the works |
DS VERSION!!! looks like I will feel bad for returning that ds so long ago, just like I feel bad now because of children of mana.
all my friends rub it in my face too. |
I don't even own a PS2, so I still haven't even played FFX, but this looks like it will rule. (I'm still working on Skies of Arcadia, which is Dreamcast-speak for Final Fantasy: Flying Pirates.) |
the battle system is actually pretty cool. think of it as a more organized tales of symphonia type battle system. its essentially real time and really well done. |
oh that sounds interesting
skies of arcadia was an interesting game |

No, you missed the joke. Basically I was musing about how much attention is placed on these next gen games with their fancier graphics and processor power when insanely awesome games are still releasing on the current (or last) gen consoles. |
true some of these games [like konami and square] they are putting out are amazing look at all the final fanasty and metal gears |

Children of Mana, Megaman ZX, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and Portait of Ruin, SNK vs Capcom Card Fighters DS, Elite Beat Agents, Final Fantasy III, and so on... i mean... how can you look at those games and NOT feel like you're missing out on something great?
by the way... the DS final fantasy is a remake of III.... the ACTUAL 3rd game... not the american III (which is the 6th one in japland). |
Right, it's a remake of Final Fantasy III.
So many great games this winter, as usual in the winter. And I'm still playing Rocket Slime Adventures for pete's sake.
Just got Neverwinter Nights 2 and some others. |

NWN 1 was giving me serious issues trying to host a multiplayer game, last night. |
I didn't care much for the original game, I got the Diamond edition. I'd rather just play D&D. |
just picked this up two days and i saved after delivering the sword of order... this game is bad ass and even if it is kind of easy at times... it can be challenging. this was the first time i was kind of "scared" of dying because i hadn't saved in a while and i had 2 zombies, 2 flans, and a bomb chasing after me and my two healers had no mp and i already had one dead guy and the other 3 guys had like 70 hp tops. i was fleeing and in this game... when you "run", the monsters chase after you for as long as they can. i was saying out loud "shit shit shit shitshitshitshitshitshitshitshitshit!" then i left that map and was safe. it was fucking close.
my favorite monster is the Rogue Tomato. that thing was pissed. |
It can definitely be challenging without Libra to let you know which of those monsters are sick fucks the first few times you're out there.
The Rogue Tomato was sick. |
i'm about 20 hours in and let me tell you, the game lures you into a false sense of security with how easy you think it is......... |
i love this game, although i already found two typos, wtf? both times they used "what" instead of "that". I'm like 26 hours into it. |

hahaha yeah... dont fuck with the t-rex or the werewolves or that basilisk thing you have to kill for a bounty in the mines... fuck that. |
this game is awsome anyone find any of the hidden summons? |
i still haven't played this, i used to be a big final fantasy nut. |
just beat it |
did you get all the ultimate weapons and stuff?
i need to get this. |

no, but i got all the espers. And boy they are completely useless... cool tho
yea the espers are completely useless when you got all the mist chains going.
i'm on the second to last dungeon in the game. what was your total time and what did you have everyone level'd up to roughly? without spoiling nothing of course. |
around 80 hours - but i'm in the habbit of just leaving the game on , so that's not really accurate. average level was around 52

what dungeon is that, the tower? |
yea i am about to enter the tower/light house. |
it took me a long ass time, but i finally beat ffxii... the last part of the game wasnt all that hard besides 1 or 2 bosses in the 100 level tower.
best part was that only vaan was level 48, everybody else was level 40 and i didnt have much trouble with vayne and the others. |
I thought I was the only one that liked this one. I lopped a good chunk off this yesterday. Way better than FFX so far. I like how exploration is a priority, something I thought they dropped the ball on after IX. |
They dropped the ball after the Square/Enix merger. :P |
Well they made some pretty shitty games before that too. This one is sincerely pretty awesome. I wanted to play FF, but didn't feel like doing random battles. |
