New site? Maybe some day.

My name is Sean. I live in Lincoln, RI. I just graduated as a music major with a focus in sound recording from UMass Lowell. I've been playing guitar for about 8 years now. I'm looking to join a band or to find someone to write with, but basically I've got lots of song ideas I want to work with others on. My main influences are Opeth and Meshuggah, but also In Flames, Alice in Chains, Dying Fetus, Nevermore, Dimmu Borgir, At the Gates, Porcupine Tree, Darkane, Amon Amarth, In-Quest, Iniquity, blah blah blah... I like to write songs that include clean singing and harmonies, extremely brutal riffs, swedish thrashing, odd times and weird subdivisions, a wide range of death metal vox (gutteral, grindy, black metal-y), and most importantly a feeling of evilness or epicness. I'm into death, progressive, technical, thrash, black metal and grindcore. I'm dying to get back onstage. Also I don't really want to drive a ways to band practice. Email me epiphone-71@cox.net |

if only your ad said "seeking to start a band that thinks it is 1986 and sees nothing wrong with punk-beat drums and slayer/sodom worship" I'd be all over that. |
hahaha, I think a lot of us would be, pam... |
I'd only give a fuck if your ad said "I like to get railed by dudes". |
Someday someone will start a filthy thrash band and let me in it. Jon wants to do one, he's solid on rythmn but we'd need a lead guitar, drums and possibly bass if my girl Laurel can't do it. |
if I wern't overwhelmed with Shroud, learning riffs from a band that I won't announce I'm in yet *winkwink* and writing material for my side project(s)
I'd be down for filthy thrash... damn limits of a 24 hour clock... |
Holy shit. This band HAS to happen. |
I will fight you for singing duties of this band. |

get her wine and a place to play and i'm sure she'll be down |
I'm definitely only playing guitar in this, so I will need singer and bass and 2nd guitar.
I might have drums already.
It was originally more of a black/grind one-man thing but I dumped the material since thought that was already stepping on the toes of other stuff I was already writing. I want to have a full band and play and have fun being angry.
Anyway, I didn't mean to derail Sean's thread. |
Yeah, the influences you have listed are amazing. I am enraged that everyone doesn't know and obsess over Capitalist Casualties. |
Rich is more entertaining than me... |
You should try bashing your face in with a holy bible while electrocuting yourself by screaming into a mic while standing in a puddle of water. Does wonders. |
I'll admit I was late on the Capitalist Casualties train, someone gave me their discography on a DVD and I was totally blown away. So I'm a bit of a poseur there, but I do love their music. |
Yeah, I'm hoping to fly them out here next year. Great band. |
That would be great to see.
Anyway, I'll make a new thread for the SIEGHAMMER thing soon.
Sean is looking for a band everyone! |
hey sean! how have you been? im still milling over that cthulhu-based experimental metal band. lemme know. |
yeah, we derailed this one good...
Good luck finding a band Sean! |
