What is that Video!?! Yeah... I tried some out. Mostly it looks like a fail, but what are you going to do. This was the first time I pulled it out at a show. Be ready for terrible videos too. The show was not terrible. I'm glad I headed down to this one for sure.
After the show, I checked out the new shop that replaced TJ's. Good, but pricey vegan calzone is my company while I work on pictures.
What a nice evening to have a curse. I had a great time at this show. All the bands were different from what I would probably have seen at a show tonight.
I would also like to send my well wishes out to Matt who used to run the ship at O'Briens. He is off to kill things for our country. Hopefully he likes sand and hopefully he comes back safely. Anyone who has been to O'Briens owes that man.
Also, I have super excellent deal, 1/2 off a used jew. If you any pyramids you need to build, this guy will make a Ramseys out of you peasant life!
The extreme rock and roll group, Vader, played a show at the palladium. If you don't know them, they have a new CD out and 1 or 20 old CDs for you to check out. Across the street was Girls Gone Wild. I'm not exactly sure why, but GGW is good for one and only one thing, giving me good one-liners to say to people. That person in front of the bus is the happiest man in the world, one Mr. Scott Lee. Why is he so happy? Maybe he's planning something like the best NEMHF 2010. Oh BTW, here's my boobs.
I drove all the way to Holyoke and all I got was this lousy shirt. Wait, that's not true. I didn't get a shirt and I had a wonderful time. I jealously watched the most alcohol fueled DBD set I've seen to date. When someone stops just drinking their drinks and starts slurping down anyone's drinks that gets near them, you know that it's on. Death Before Dishonor was like a boozey black hole that sucked in any drink venturing too close to the stage. Personally, I'm not made of corona or Jack daniels so I was safe. "Party on wayne." "Party on Garth." Excellent.
The Palladium was absolutely crazy. Just imagine the spectical of a normal GWAR show and the addition of everyone's favorite holiday to wear the slutties of possible clothing (the second favorite being Easter. va-va-voom). Even some of the staff of the Palladium got in on the action. And all of those costumes (aka your normal cloths but with a pirate's eye patch) were ruined by all the fake blood/body fluids that GWAR doused the audience with. Jokes on them! My cloths were already pretty flithy and covered with real blood/body fluids.
I would also like to say that Todd Cardini is a class act. Thank you for the gift for the future. Feel free to check out his site and tell him that. Next, it seems that the Springfield-based photographer Jeremy Saffer was the only person that was got on stage with GWAR that wasn't killed. I suggest going and calling him a PUSSY for not being killed by GWAR.
My first time at this venue. really, it's probably everyone's first time there for a show. I was amazed at the kids that showed up. Then I went into the parking lot and say all the cars that were out there running with parents waiting for their little darlings to come out. sigh.
I decided to take some time and head out the long way to go home. I got followed by Cop after cop through my home town. It's good to be home. There is a new pizza joint opening up in Derry. That should be awesome.
If you want a trip down memory lane, and search skynet for outbreak. I forgot about most of those things. Remember before that whole Comet thing or Terrorist thing and after the whole Nuclear War thing, that diseases from Africa were the next thing that is going to kill us all? Me either, but it's great that google doesn't forget.
Anyhow, I love early shows. I saw these bands, got food and was back home before Michele Mcphee finished her show. Sweet night.
